Bowing Walls
If you notice your walls are bulging or curving inwards or outwards, it suggests that the soil outside is exerting pressure on the wall. Having bowing walls in your home can damage its structure and make it unsafe. The common signs of a bowing wall include:
- Leaning or curving inwards or outwards in foundation walls
- Cracks in the foundation walls
- Water leakage
- Doors and windows sticking or not closing properly
Depending on the type of foundation your home has, you may notice bowing or bulging in the middle or near the top. Diagonal or stair-step cracks are also signs of movement. If you notice your wall bowing by 1″ to 3″ on any type of wall, call us for professional help immediately.
